History of the STE covering the need to have 100% attendance
September 7, 2004 In the beginning we limited the membership to 10 members than we went to 40 members; after all of the post production growth we increased the membership to 50. Next we incorporated with no limits to the number of members. In those early days it was necessary to have a good turn out for the meetings for the guest speakers, this still should be the rule. The bylaws committee thinks the 5 out of ten should stay. In the old days we never asked any body to join our group, they would wait until somebody left the state or died, to join. SMPTE added the “T” from our group. Some of the design and members of our group did the engineering. Remember STE is “one of kind” let’s keep the fellowship and engineers together. Asking members to attend should not be a problem and any excused absence with reason this should not cause the loss of good fellowship and our membership to occur. This is my thoughts and having been a member since January 1, 1968 the Society of Television Engineers has been my life which I try to hold the standards set by the founders. Respectfully, Capp Loughboro Capp Loughboro Chairman Bylaws Committee.
